First neutrino observed with OPERA

During the first physics run in October 2007 with partially filled target sections, OPERA observed the first neutrino interactions within the target. The first extracted bricks have been scanned in Europe and Japan, several vertices have been reconstructed.

OPERA start-up report

During the first days of the first CNGS beam time period (19.08.-30.08.2006) OPERA observed more than 100 beam correlated events with a clean time distribution. The recorded events show the expected tracking performances. The first data are summarized in the OPERA start-up report.
